Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!
Posted by Blessed Mom in Happenings, parenting

Almost 2 weeks late, but still …  the thought counts. Am I right?

My Baby Girl turned 4! Four! I know every mother says it, but “where did the time go?” I love four! She’s independent but still needs me. She’s funny. She gets jokes. She makes up jokes (and retells them 800 times). She understands feelings and emotions. She loves big…hugs her friends, tells them she loves them, takes care of everyone. I constantly watch in awe when I see her concern for others. She has such a tender heart. And boy, she’s smart! I mean, clearly, I’m biased. Still, she writes her name, knows her letters, numbers, and knows how to add and subtract small numbers! One day she just started telling me, “three and one makes four.”

When it comes to moving this year, sometimes I wonder if she notices that we moved. She has done wonderfully! She has so many friends. She loves the new parks, her new school, her new room, and her new church. Sometimes it makes me sad that she won’t remember life in Vermont, but I’m doing my best to tell her lots about her birthplace. My little Texan has already learned to say some words with a twang. Of course I correct her and we giggle.  :)

I am so proud of my 4-year-old. How did I get such a beautiful, sweet girl? It must be from her Daddy’s side, although I do see my attitude come out once in awhile. We’ll have to work on that.

Baby Girl, you light up my life (as cheesy as that sounds). You make me smile, laugh, cry, giggle, and shake my head in confusion. You are the one that made me a mother, and it’s a job that I love and take very seriously. I am so glad we still have 1 1/2 years before you start school. I want to enjoy every day with you. Thanks for being you. Thank you for loving your brother with all your heart. Keep that sweet spirit, Baby Girl; don’t let anything make you cynical or mean. Daddy and I love you. We’re praying that you will grow up to be a wonderful girl who loves Jesus and others.

Happy birthday to my big 4-year-old!

  1. Happy birthday to your daughter! This got me thinking about what I want to write up about my own soon-to-be-four-year-old :)

Got something to say? Go for it!
