What’s Happening
Posted by Blessed Mom in Happenings

We’ve been under the sickness umbrella for a week now. One of the kids runs a fever, it goes away, the other one gets it, over and over and over. Thankfully, they’re still pretty happy despite not feeling well.

We’ve been raking up leaves…lots of leaves. We have a huge oak tree in our front yard, and the leaves here fall incredibly slow. We get a yard full if it’s windy. I’ll rake them up, then two days later it’s windy again. The neighbor told me that once we get a good frost they’ll all fall. However, it’s been unusually warm. We hit 80 yesterday and today! So I continue to rake every few days. I remind myself that it’s good exercise and gets us outside.

I found Macintosh apples this week! My apple bread seemed less flavorful this year and I wondered if it was the type of apples I bought. I will make more this week and see if the macs make the difference. (Not gonna lie, this little touch of “home” made me get a little teary-eyed at the grocery store.)  **The bread was DELICIOUS!!!!**

After a tough day with a trouble-making Buddy I had the kids playing in the play room while dinner cooked. I sat reading a book. Buddy ran across the futon and slammed his forehead onto my cheekbone. The result? A beautiful black eye.

Thanks, Buddy.

My man and I took Baby Girl on a date Saturday morning. We shopped for Buddy, got a snack, loved being together. Baby Girl cracked jokes. She probably does that a lot but usually Buddy overshadows her with his shenanigans. I loved the special time we had with her.

Here’s hoping the kids feel better this week. I’ve got lots to do: baking, cooking, planning for my man’s work party this weekend.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
